Over the years, the British Acupuncture Council has done an excellent job of working through the swathes of research into the efficacy of acupuncture, and have a page on their website dedicated to informing the public. You can access it by clicking here

There is also a video on their Youtube channel, looking at the same subject, which I have added in case you are interested:

Evidence Based Acupuncture was created to show the current state of knowledge about acupuncture, using the language of science. The evidence summaries produced by Evidence Based Acupuncture are fully referenced literature reviews of the most up to date evidence for acupuncture in a variety of clinical areas. They draw on up to date systematic reviews and basic science research and include discussions of popular treatments for these same conditions. A team of volunteer researchers edits and reviews each summary for quality, accuracy and consistency. Their hard work can be appreciated by clicking here
